BIOGRAPHY

Clayton Porter came to Santa Fe in 1998 to get his BFA at the College of Santa Fe he discovered the world of fine arts.  At the age of nineteen Clayton’s mother passed away, losing a two yearlong battle with breast cancer. After taking a semester off, Clayton resumed studies in Santa Fe where he received his Bachelor in Fine Arts and minor in Art History in 2003. 

Clayton’s work often merges the use of comic styles with that of political and social observations often having an affinity with the seriousness of the loss of a parent. Porter continues to live and work in Santa Fe. He recently had a solo exhibition at the Center for Contemporary Arts, Santa Fe.

Porter has exhibited nationally including: the Center for Contemporary Arts, Santa Fe; 516 Arts, the Museum of Fine Arts, Santa Fe; Albuquerque; United Art Space, Oklahoma City; Red Saw, Newark; and the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.
