BIOGRAPHY

Sheilah Wilson was born in 1975 in Caribou River, Nova Scotia. Wilson completed her BA Honors at Mount Allison University in English/French (1999), BFA in Photography at NSCAD University (2002) and MA Fine Arts at Goldsmiths College (2004).
Wilson has exhibited her work in Canada, the USA, England and Israel. Recent awards include CBC Aural Recall winner (2002), Nova Scotia Talent Trust recipient (2004), Creative Capital Foundation Scholarship (2007), Canada Council Travel Grant (2008). Wilson recently completed a residency at New Pacific Studio in New Zealand and has upcoming residencies at RAID Projects Los Angeles and Pont Aven, France. Wilson’s recent work has been commissioned for the Museum of Fine Arts of Santa Fe, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and an upcoming solo show will be taking place at Judy Chicago’s Through the Flower Foundation, where she won the ‘Feminists Under Forty’ competition in 2008.
